Another one bites the dust.

Over the summer I enjoyed one of the more inspiring completions.  I completed #63 when Jeff, Joshua, Mom, Ron and I visited  Yosemite National Park in July.  There are no words to describe the natural beauty in this gorgeous National Park.

El Capitan

We only spent one day in Yosemite and I can assure you that this was not enough time to explore all that I wanted to.  Most of my pictures are from the roadside since we mostly drove from vantage point to vantage point checking out the views.

A fabulous lunch at The Ahwahnee Hotel

I think next time I'd like to maybe take a guided tour and maybe do some (easy) hiking.  I'm not the camping type but I could definitely go for a few days in this most serene location.

What does "up to date" mean really?

I am seriously starting to re evaluate #23 - Bring Scrapbook up to date. Since I made this list I have started 3 more scrapbooks. I am currently working on 4 books.
1) Joshua's book
2) Family Travel Book
3) School Years book for Joshua
4) A book all about me

I've come to the realization that these will never be up to date as they are all a work in progress so I've decided to seek progress, not perfection. As long as I am working toward filling the books I will consider #23 a success. I don't want to make myself stress over a hobby. Hobbies are fun, right?

About a year ago I joined ScrapHappy with the amazing Lain Ehmann. And recently I have become more active in the community. This is sending my motivation and inspiration off the chart. I see good things in the future.

Ummm...maybe 2001 days

So I totally forgot about this blog for the last few years. But many of the original list are still goals of mine so why not just continue with a slight change in the objective. I now declare this the 101 in 2001 project. Update to follow soon.

Long over due blog post...

Well, I've realized that if I wait until I have lots of time to write a thoughtful and comprehensive blog post, it'll never happen. So, here is my sub-standard update. :)

#1 - Obviously D&R are not in Texas yet, but they have seen lots of interest in their condo over the last few weeks. I'm optimistic that I'll be able to cross this item off the list in the next few months.

#7 - Joshua has started preschool and LOVES it! On his first day he didn't cry and neither did I until I came to pick him up. He had just woke up from his nap and was a little disoriented and he burst into tears as soon as I came in the room. Of course this made me cry too. But it was a really sucessful first day. I was pleased.

#9 - I've started this process. It'll probably take all 1001 days to do it. WOW, I have a lot of pictures!! I'm using these fab archival envelopes I found online and organizing them chronologically.
So that's all for now.... I'll post more soon. I promise. Seriously. I will. :)

Quick update...

I hope to have a more complete update posted to this blog tomorrow, but I wanted to show my progress on Joshua's 2006 scrapbook. I'm on Day 5 of the "LOAD" challenge and the last four pages are all in 2006 book. I cannot contain my excitement when I think about the 31 additional pages I will have in his scrapbook at the end of January. This essentially doubles the number of pages I did all last year.

I know these pictures are crappy and crooked, but I have to photograph them at an angle to minimize the glare. One of these days I'll find an affordable 12X12 scanner. Hey, I should have put that on my 101 list. Can I make it #102?

One down and 31 to go...

I just finished my 1st scrap page for my 31 page challenge. It's of Joshua's trip to the Alameda County Fair in June. If you knew how I scrapbooked you'd realize what an accomplishment this is. It took no more than 45 minutes from start to finish. I'm am usually an incredible slow scrapbooker. It can take me 2 - 3 hours to complete a page. But this challenge is all about speed and I did it. Yea me! Here it is....

Go!

Well, being the first day of my new project, I'm all revved up. I've made progress on the following:
#23 - I signed up for a "Lay Out A Day Challenge" at http://www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com/. Each day in January I'm challenged to create one page layout for Joshua's scrapbook. I went to Hobby Lobby and Recollections today to stock up on supplies for this project. I already can see how difficult it's going to be to do 31 pages in 31 days. I haven't even started the layout for today, but as soon as I'm done blogging it's scrap city for me!
#34 - You're reading this, aren't you? :)
#59 - As I usually do on the first day of the month, I completed our budget for this month. We've really been good about staying within our limits this past year and Jeff and I are both committed to doing it again this year so hopefully we'll be celebrating #2 much sooner than 1001 days from now.
#72 - Tonight I broke-in a new crock pot and tried a new recipe from a very old recipe book. It wasn't bad. Jeff cleaned his plate and Joshua ate about half of his. I probably liked it the least. It was this chicken/mushroom soup/Lipton onion concoction that would NEVER be accused of being gourmet. Which is ok, but this dish just didn't suit me. I doubt I'll make it again. So hopefully I'll have better luck next time.
#98 - And finally I bought a new 8x8 album for our wedding scrapbook while I was at Recollections. It's about time I scrap booked our wedding. Hopefully I'll have it completed by our 10th Anniversary in August. And I had a great idea for it also -- at the end of the book I'm going to leave some space for our 1st, 5th, 10th, etc. anniversary pictures. Cute, huh?

So that's it. I really think I'm off to a good start. Thank you Patricia, Maryanna and Lisa for agreeing to do this with me. You are exactly what I need to keep me on point.
